Town of Whitehall collection, 1828-1997.

This collection contains material from the Town of Whitehall describing various aspects of its history, including short articles and essays on early town inhabitants, celebrations, the Skene family, town elections, and newspaper articles from the Whitehall Times and the Whitehall Independent concerning Skenesborough Museum, cemeteries, crime, railroads (the Saratoga and Whitehall Railway, Delaware and Hudson passenger station in Whitehall, Amtrak), transportation companies on Lake Champlain, firemen and fires, hotels, the War of 1812, businesses, schools, and cemeteries (Kinner and Hatch Hill). The 1869 edition of the Whitehall Village Charter is a part of this collection.
